Country star Craig Morgan turns to woodworking business after heartbreak

After country music star Craig Morgan lost his 19-year-old son Jerry in a boating accident in 2016, he didn’t turn to music. Instead, he decided to open a family-run woodworking business in his son’s memory.

“Music is a big part of my life obviously,” Morgan told FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo on “Mornings with Maria.” “But I don’t know, there’s something very spiritual about time with yourself and a knife and a piece of wood.”

The Gallery at Morgan Farms in Dickson, Tennessee, produces organic items and products from reclaimed, repurposed and recycled materials.

Running a family business, as Craig continues to pursue his music career, is a challenge, but an awesome experience nonetheless, his daughter Aly Morgan Beaird said.

“Everything in the store is made by something in the family,” she said. “It’s really cool that we can bring our talents together and distribute them.”

Some of the work in the gallery were created by Craig’s fellow musicians, including Zac Brown, Billy Dean and Eric Paslay.

“Every piece of wood has a story,” Craig added.
