General Motors is recalling more than 814,000 pickup trucks and cars in the U.S. to fix problems with electronic brake controls and battery cables.

The Wentzville plant’s paint and body shops, as well as its general assembly areas, will receive upgrades that include new machines and tooling.

They'll be longer and weigh more, because customer research showed a need for more interior space.

"Everything we have is based on General Motors," a former Lordstown worker said.
