The former New York City mayor has already filed paperwork in at least two states to appear on presidential primary ballots.

In a statement, Bloomberg's campaign said the former New York mayor believes his past comments are "disrespectful and wrong."

The billionaire is taking another step which signals a possible 2020 run.
