Does Summer Make You More Stressed Out?
Summer is normally a time for fun in the sun, rest and relaxation. But new data from meQuilibrium, a digital coaching platform for employers, found that summer is a time where many employees are stressed out.
meQuilibrium cites that heightened stress during the summer can come from factors outside of the office. Planning busy travel weekends and spending an extended amount of time with friends and family are all a part of the summer months and consequently can make employees feel stretched thin in their personal lives.
While taking trips is an essential part of summer, returning to the office after a trip can be stressful as employees await full email inboxes and piled up projects. And trips to the beach and pool can cause body image stress surrounding weight control and eating.
With time management and focus already taking a hit during the summer months, the added stress doesn't help worker productivity.
