Elevator Pitch: Affordable Bridesmaid Rentals
Interplay Ventures Partner Deepen Parikh, NEA Partner Dayna Grayson and ff Venture Capital Partner Adam Plotkin on whether they would invest in Vow to Be Chic with founder Kelsey Doorey.
Vow To Be Chic Founder Kelsey Doorey will be pitching FBN's Risk & Reward on Friday Dec. 5 about her idea for affordable bridesmaid dress rentals. Doorey will be making the pitch to judges AJ Plotkin, partner at FF Ventures; Dayna Grayson, partner at New Enterprise Associates; and Deepen Parikh, partner at Interplay Ventures.
“Vow To Be Chic introduces an affordable, convenient, and stylish alternative to the status quo, offering dresses from $95 that retail for an average of $300,” Doorey says. “It's a great honor to be in someone's bridal party but it's also an expensive honor, especially when one is young and doesn't have disposable income.”
Doorey says that after being a bridesmaid multiples times, she was inspired to help make the honor more affordable. Doorey previously worked in retail and as a management consultant.
The startup has raised a seed round and will be looking to raise again in 2015.
