Exxon Reports Pressure Problems at Beaumont, Texas, Refinery

Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) reported pressure problems that led to above-normal emissions at its Beaumont, Texas refinery.

"The pressure in the High Pressure Seal Drum increased; investigation is ongoing," the refinery said in a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "Process streams were routed to the flare to minimize emissions."

It said the emissions began Saturday and ended Sunday.

The 362,000-barrel-a-day Beaumont refinery is 90 miles east of Houston.
