Fmr. Mexican President Vicente Fox Compares Trump to Fidel Castro
Former Mexican President Vicente Fox, who outspokenly expressed his views on President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall on the border of Mexico and the U.S., is back. During an interview on the FOX Business Network’s Mornings with Maria, he compared Donald Trump to the deceased Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
“Castro was a dictator and a very dangerous and terrible dictator… Nobody needs dictators. And by the way, that kind of dictatorship, that kind of totalitarian [leadership] is very similar to Trump. They lie, they cheat, they are false prophets, they promise many things but they are not going to be able to comply,” he said.
Fox’s name calling didn’t stop there. When asked to take his statement back, he adamantly continued, slamming Trump’s election victory by saying he didn’t garner enough support to “impose his own ideas over a nation and over the world.”
“I don’t take it back, I insist on his genius, they are similar – authoritarian, they impose their wills, they only think that they have the right and the reason,” he said.
