Former White House Chief of Staff Joins Board of Lorillard
Former White House Chief of Staff, Andrew H. Card, Jr., is joining the Lorillard (NYSE:LO) board of directors, the third largest manufacturer of cigarettes said Thursday.
Card served as chief of staff for President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2006 and as Secretary of Transportation for President H.W. Bush from 1992 to 1993. In between his White House positions, Card served as president and chief executive officer for the American Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Card is currently the Acting Dean at the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, and is the 8th non-executive independent director to join Lorillards nine-member board.
