John Andretti's Souped Up Stinger Expected to Fetch $1M for St. Jude
John Andretti’s Stinger racecar will be auctioned next month in celebration of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 race. The 12-time Indy racecar driver told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney 100% of the auction proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“Window World has paid all the bills on it… Honda has donated a race-winning engine for it. Firestone is donating the tires; We have a Scott Dickson seat in it… Barrett Jackson is going to be doing the auction,” he said.
The Stinger was designed after the 1911 Marmon Wasp and features autographs from nearly all the living Indy 500 drivers.
The private auction will be held in Indianapolis on May 25and Andretti expects it to rake in at least $1 million.
