Will Uncle Sam Kill the Comcast-TWC Merger?

Stick a fork in it. Because it looks like the Comcast-Time Warner Cable deal is done.

It looks like it ain't happening. The government won't let it.

And, I bet, it's just a matter of time before these guys go their separate ways and say the hell with it.

Pity. Because that will rob us all of the chance to see whether two companies known for their horrible customer service could have made a go of it as one big company known for its horrible service.

That should have been the market's call. (Not the government's call.)

But what worries me about Uncle Sam crashing these guys' wedding, is all the other weddings it stands to crash as well -- even if it never shows up at the church, at all.

How many other firms will start re-thinking their deals? And their mergers?

There might be very good reasons not to let Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Time Warner (NYSE:TWC) tie the knot...but who should be the one to decide?
