Harvey Weinstein threw Super Bowl bash, then apparently fell asleep during rape trial
Weinstein was reportedly spotted dozing off in court the next day
Amid his ongoing rape and sex assault trial, Harvey Weinstein hosted a Super Bowl bash where he allegedly griped about the #MeToo movement – then apparently dozed off during the next day’s court proceedings, Page Six reported.
Weinstein threw the Sunday night Super Bowl party at his Manhattan hideout, in the company of business executives, friends and even attorneys, the outlet reported.
"Harvey held a small get-together to say thank you," Weinstein’s rep told Page Six. "It was his team of lawyers, both current and some previous, his personal attorney and two friends.”
But sources told the outlet approximately 60 people – “including a lot of women!” – turned out for the party, where Weinstein told an unidentified record exec the #MeToo movement has “gone too far."
“No wonder Harvey was so worn out,” a source said, according to the report.
The embattled movie mogul is in the third week of his New York trial, which surrounds accusations that he raped a woman in March 2013 and forced oral sex on production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006.
“Harvey has stated that he encourages the positive things that have come from the [#MeToo] movement,” Weinstein’s rep added to Page Six.
On the Friday before the bash, rape accuser Jessica Mann told the court she thought Weinstein “was deformed and intersex.”

"He does not have testicles, and it appears that he has a vagina," she said.
Mann returned to the stand the day after the Super Bowl, but the judge cut her testimony short for the day after she became emotionally distraught.
More than 100 women have accused him of sexual misconduct, and six accusers, such as “Sopranos” actress Annabella Sciorra, model Tarale Wulff, and, most recently, Lauren Marie Young have also taken the stand.
Young’s allegations involving the hotel encounter in California are partly the basis of criminal charges filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney on Jan. 6, just as Weinstein's New York trial was getting underway. Weinstein is also charged with raping a different woman in that case.

Young told jurors Wednesday that Weinstein stripped off his clothes, pulled down her dress and groped her breast in a hotel bathroom in 2013. Her testimony that Weinstein grazed her vagina during the alleged assault touched off a tense exchange with one of Weinstein's defense attorneys, Damon Cheronis, who reminded jurors that she told police in 2018, “I don’t think he touched me down there.”

“Is that something you just added today?” Cheronis asked. When Young replied, "No," he added: “Pretty important fact, wouldn’t you say?”
“I’m not a lawyer," Young responded.
“No," Cheronis said, "but you’re a witness and you’re supposed to tell the truth.”
Young, 30, will face more questioning on Thursday, and Wulff is also being brought back to the witness stand because of an issue with evidence that emerged after she testified last week.

A friend she says she told about the encounter is also expected to testify Thursday as a corroborating witness.
