Jameson Irish Whiskey wants you drinking alcohol at breakfast

And its new brew might tempt you

Forget mimosas. Alcohol brand Jameson wants you drinking whiskey at breakfast.

The distiller announced Jameson Cold Brew, a triple-distilled blend of whiskey and fairtrade Arabica bean brew, roasted in “coffee richness with hints of toasted oak and dark chocolate,” according to the brand’s website. And it packs a punch at 70 proof.

The new brew will be available for pre-order Saturday at ReserveBar.com, and it costs about $37 for a 750 milliliter bottle. Bars and participating restaurants will start serving next week.

Some social media users can’t wait to try the whiskey-coffee blend.

“I need this in my life right meow,” one Twitter user wrote. And “Jameson announced a new cold brew flavor that has my name on it,” said another.

BILL SHUFELT’S NON-ALCOHOLIC CRAFT BEER BUSINESS IS BOOMING

Jameson is not the first brand to hop on the cold-brew train. Jägermeister and SKYY have released alcohol-coffee blends and Pepsi and Coca-Cola have cold brew-cola mixes for non-drinkers.

While Jameson sales dipped slightly when professional mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor unveiled his Proper No. Twelve brand in 2018, it was still the top-selling Irish whiskey in the United States. Jameson sold more than 7 million cases in 2018.
