Meghan Markle, Prince Harry steal limelight in South Beach

'All very hush-hush, with a lot of security'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their first public appearance since shaking up Britain's royal family in a move dubbed "Megxit" last month.

The son of Princess Diana, who has embarked with his wife on a life independent from the duties of senior royals while residing part-time in Canada, spoke at an exclusive JPMorgan Chase event in Miami, according to multiple reports. The prince is sixth in line to the throne, following his father, Prince Charles; his brother, Prince William, and all three of William's children.

HOW MUCH DOES THE BRITISH ROYAL FAMILY MAKE?

The couple traveled to the posh 1 Hotel in South Beach for the event, sources familiar with the matter told The New York Post. How much they were paid, which would help with their goal of becoming financially independent, was unknown.

JPMorgan Chase declined to comment to FOX Business.

WHAT IS MEGHAN MARKLE'S NET WORTH?

“It was all very hush-hush, with a lot of security, " a source told Page Six.

The couple have largely kept to themselves after their move, which provided a break from palace protocol and constant press scrutiny but may have created more distance from their old lives than they originally sought.

The agreement announced by Buckingham Palace and accompanied by a warm note from the queen doesn't limit the activities Harry and Meghan can pursue, but it specifies that “everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty.”
