840,000 packs of Bernat Tizzy yarn recalled because kids can get entangled in unraveled items
About 840,000 packages of textured yarn are being recalled because young kids can get entangled in items made with the yarn.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says two children were entangled in Bernat Tizzy yarn when blankets made with the yarn unraveled. No injuries were reported.
Bernat says Tizzy yarn is more susceptible to snagging than other yarns. It has stopped selling it, and customers should stop using it and keep it away from children. Customers can contact Bernat for a refund.
The yarn comes in 11 colors and was sold in craft stores, including Jo-Ann and Michaels, and online at yarnspirations.com from April 2012 to February 2015 for about $5.
About 620,000 packs were sold in the U.S. and 220,000 in Canada.
