After 'Coat of Many Colors,' Dolly Parton's next NBC movie to be based on her song 'Jolene'
The next movie about Dolly Parton's life to air on NBC will be "Jolene."
The announcement came Thursday at a panel for TV critics about the film "Coat of Many Colors."
The 1973 song, "Jolene," is about one woman begging another to not steal her man.
John Sacret Young, who was a writer on "China Beach" and "The West Wing," is penning the script.
In January, NBC announced a deal with Parton to produce TV movies inspired by her songs, stories and life.
"Coat of Many Colors" stars eight-year-old Aylvia Lind as a young Parton in the film based on her autobiographical track.
Ricky Schroeder and Jennifer Nettles have been cast as the singer's parents.
It will air on NBC for the holidays.
