AutoNation February Sales Jump 29%

AutoNation (NYSE:AN) reported a 29% increase in new vehicle sales in February, led by domestic cars.

The nation’s largest automotive retailer said new vehicle unit sales in February totaled 17,041, up 29% compared with the same period in 2010.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based AutoNation posted a 40% increase in domestic sales to 5,240, as well as a 35% improvement in its import unit, up to 9,114. Premium luxury sales slipped 1% to 2,687.
