Bic South Africa says sorry after Facebook post urged women to 'Think like a man.'

A company famous for its pens has apologized for marking a public holiday honoring women in South Africa with a Facebook post urging readers to "Think like a man."

Bic South Africa posted the message with a photo of a smiling female model on its Facebook page on Aug. 9, the anniversary of a 1956 march led by women who were protesting the country's white minority rule at the time.

The post said: "Look like a girl, Act like a lady, Think like a man, Work like a boss."

The post was retracted after critics denounced it as sexist on social media.

In a message on Facebook, Bic South Africa said on Tuesday that it was sorry for "offending everybody" and that it understood it had made a mistake.
