Cancer Survivor Sheryl Crow Shares Her Healthy Diet in New Cookbook

Singer Sheryl Crow dished on her new cookbook full of the healthy recipes she discovered during her 2006 breast cancer battle in an interview on the “Rachael Ray Show” Tuesday.

“I learned a lot about nutrition because I wanted to be proactive in my cancer treatment,” Crow told the talk show host and celebrity cook about her inspiration for writing “If It Makes You Healthy.”

The book’s title was inspired by Crow’s 1996 hit single “If It Makes You Happy.”

“My sister thought it should be called, 'If It Makes You Healthy, Why the Hell Are You So Fat?' but we dropped that part off!” the 48-year-old joked to Ray.

The singer’s personal chef, Chuck White, also worked on the book, due to hit shelves in March 2011.

Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 after a routine screening mammogram, and is now cancer-free following surgery and radiation therapy.
