Cars.com Sees Dec Light, New-vehicle Sales At Highest Level Since 2006
Cars.com said Monday it expects December light, new-vehicle sales of 1.51 million units, up 11.3% from a year ago to mark the highest level since Dec. 2006. The research site is expecting a seasonally adjusted annual rate, or SAAR, of 16.86 million units for the month. "Bolstered by low gas prices, SUV and full-size truck sales have been particularly strong this month -- even beyond normal seasonality," Cars.com chief analyst Jesse Toprak said in a statement. Looking ahead, Toprak said he expects sales to grow to 17.1 million units in 2015.
