Dow Industrials On Track To Open Above 18,000
The Dow Jones Industrial Average looks set to trade above 18,000 for the first time after the open. The blue chip barometer closed Monday at 17959.44, and Dow futures were recently up 65 points, after data showing gross domestic product growth reached an 11-year high of 5% in the third quarter. If the Dow closes above 18,000, it would come 120 trading sessions after first closing above 17,000 on July 3, which would make it the fifth-fastest 1,000-point rise in the Dow's history.
