Emerging Markets ETF Slides For Fourth Session On Greece Jitters
Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF fell for a fourth straight session on Monday as the possibility of Greece defaulting on its debt escalated after the country failed to secure an extension on its bailout package. The exchange traded fund's decline reflects the weak performance of emerging market stocks with all major indexes sharply lower. China's Shanghai A shares index dropped 3.3%, Brazil's Bovespa declined 2.2%, Korea's KOSPI fell 1.4% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 2.6%. The ETF, which tracks stocks of companies located in emerging markets, was off 2.2%.
