Euro Edges Higher Vs. Dollar Ahead Of Greek Referendum

The euro was modestly higher against the dollar Friday, ahead of Sunday's bailout referendum in Greece. The euro was buying $1.1105 on $1.1086 late Thursday in New York. Momentum appeared to be tilting toward a "yes" vote on the referendum on the bailout proposal from Greece's creditors, although the result from a poll for newspaper Ethnos lies within the margin of error and suggests a tight result. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is urging a "no" vote. The U.S. dollar index was 0.1% lower at 96.003.
