Final Markit Manufacturing PMI Revised Higher In January

The final reading of the U.S. manufacturing purchasing managers index was adjusted slightly upward, to a reading of 53.9 from the "flash" reading of 53.7. That ties December for the lowest reading in a year, Markit said. "Manufacturing continued to expand in January, but the sector remains in a lower gear compared to that seen last summer," said Chris Williamson, chief economist at Markit.
