Ford Issues Safety Recall Of 423,000 Vehicles

Ford Motor Co. issued a safety recall for approximately 423,000 vehicles in North America related to potential issues with electric power steering. The recall follows reports of four minor accidents that didn't involve injuries. The recall pertains to certain 2011 to 2013 Ford Taurus and Flex, Lincoln MKS and MKT, 2011 to 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ and 2011 Mercury Milan model vehicles, "for a potential intermittent electrical connection in the steering gear that might result in the loss of electric power steering assist while driving." The stock edged up 0.2% in morning trade, but has lost 1.8% year to date, while the S&P 500 has gained 2.4%.
