GE Transportation employees ratify 4-year contract covering 3,200 workers in Erie
About 3,200 GE Transportation workers in Erie have a new four-year contract containing $1.40 in hourly raises and $10,000 in lump-sum bonuses.
Union members ratified the deal Tuesday. Union leaders didn't announce the exact vote count, but confirmed to the Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/1C7QnWl ) that a majority of workers voted to approve the agreement.
The contract was agreed to on June 21.
Workers will get a $2,000 ratification bonus and four more lump-sum payments over the course of the contract.
It also increases health care premiums by more than $2,800 for workers making less than $75,000 annually and more than $3,500 for those making more than $75,000 over the life of the pact.
