Musk's SpaceX Aborts Rocket Launch | Fox Business

Elon Musk's aerospace company SpaceX has abandoned its launch Tuesday of a Falcon 9 rocket on an International Space Station supply mission, after a technical problem was detected. "During the terminal count, engineers observed drift on one of the two thrust vector actuators on the second stage that would likely have caused an automatic abort," SpaceX said in an update posted online. The lift-off at Cape Canaveral in Florida was abandoned late into the countdown, scheduled for 6.20 a.m. Eastern Time, NASA said in a statement. While SpaceX's main goal was to send NASA cargo to the ISS, it also planned to try to bring back the Falcon's first-stage rocket for a soft landing on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean -- a cost-saving move the company says has not been made before. SpaceX said it now plans to attempt lift-off on Friday at 5.09 a.m. Eastern Time.
