Sony To Begin U.S. Sales Of PlayStation TV On Tuesday
Sony Corp. was set to begin sale Tuesday of its PlayStation TV in North America. The device was due to retail for $99 on its own, or for $139 in a bundle with a DualShock 3 controller, a memory card and "The LEGO Movie Videogame," according to the website PlayStationLifeStyle.net. Gaming site Kotaku described the product, which is already in stores in Japan, as "a micro-console that attaches via HDMI cable to your television set or computer monitor." It said the unit contained "the guts of a PlayStation Vita console, allowing users to play select games (those not extensively relying on the Vita's touch or camera functions) from Sony's handheld game system on their television set." Shares of Sony ended the Tokyo morning session down 1.8%, underperforming the Nikkei Stock Average , which was 1.5% lower.
