Stocks End Higher As Jobs Data Seen Delaying Rate Hike
U.S. stocks closed higher Monday after erasing early losses. The stock market's switch to rally mode was pinned on bets that the Federal Reserve will move more slowly in raising interest rates given Friday's disappointing jobs report. The S&P 500 closed up by 13.70 points, or 0.7%, at 2,080.66, according to preliminary FactSet data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished higher by 117.88 points, or 0.7%, at 17,881.12.
