Tribune Media sells Baltimore property holding Baltimore Sun printing facility for $46.5M
Tribune Media sold a 60-acre parcel of land where the printing facility for the Baltimore Sun is located for $46.5 million.
The Sun, now part of Tribune Publishing Co., has a long-term lease on the facility, which takes up about a third of the property.
Over the summer the company once known as the Tribune Co. split its publishing business from its broadcast operations, now called Tribune Media Co.
Tribune publishing owns, in addition to the Baltimore paper, the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and a number of other papers.
Tribune Media has 42 owned or operated local television stations, including WGN America.
It expects proceeds of $30 million from the sale after deducting expenses and taxes.
The name of the buyer was not disclosed.
