U.S. Stocks Open Lower After Durable-goods Data
U.S. stocks opened lower on Tuesday as investors assessed durable-goods orders that showed signs of revival in business investment in April. Positive readings on recent economic data have stoked fears that an interest-rate hikes may come sooner than anticipated. The S&P 500 opened 5 points, or 0.2%, lower at 2,121. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 38 points, or 0.2%, to 18,191. The Nasdaq Composite began the session down 11 points, or 0.2%, at 5,077.
