U.S. Stocks Open Lower After GDP Data
U.S. stocks opened lower on Friday. The main indexes were on track to finish the week modestly lower, but set to end the month with gains. The revision to the gross domestic product growth showed that the economy shrank at an 0.7% annual rate during the first quarter. The S&P 500 opened 5 points, or 0.2%, lower at 2,116. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 55 points, or 0.3%, to 18,073. The Nasdaq Composite began the session down 7 points, or 0.1%, at 5,091.
