Uber driver accused of sexually assaulting a passenger is ordered held without bail

A Massachusetts Uber driver accused of sexually assaulting a woman who had summoned the ride-sharing service has been ordered held without bail.

Forty-six-year-old Alejandro Done, of Boston, waived his right to a dangerousness hearing in Cambridge District Court on Wednesday.

Police say Done picked up the victim from a Boston residence Dec. 6. She had summoned an Uber driver to take her to her Cambridge home.

Instead, police say Done drove her to a secluded location where he beat and sexually assaulted her. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, assault to rape, kidnapping, and assault and battery.

The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office says it's unclear if Done used information he gleaned as an Uber driver to target the victim. Company records helped police to identify Done.
