Falwell Jr.: The Nation Will Be Shocked When Trump Becomes President

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump visited Flint, Mich. on Wednesday, where he discussed the city's water crisis and how globalization and poor trade deals have impacted the state's economy.

“It used to be that cars were made in Flint and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico, now the cars are made in Mexico and you can’t drink the water in Flint,” Trump said.

Also on Wednesday, Ford Motor Company announced it plans to eventually move all small-car production out of the U.S. and down to plants in Mexico—a blow to Detroit’s economy and auto industry.

“It is just amazing how many buildings are being bulldozed in Detroit. Once the power house of America as far as the auto industry and it’s all been because of Democratic leadership and Republicans in Congress who refuse to stand up and do anything to stop it. And that is one of the reasons I was an early supporter of Trump is I saw that he wasn’t a part of the establishment, he wasn’t a career politician,” Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. said to the FOX Business Network’s Lou Dobbs.

Falwell believes that Trump’s prior success in business is a good indication on why he would become a great president.

“I’ve seen what can be done. When I saw Donald Trump, when I heard him talk about the bad trade deals that are taking jobs away from America. When I saw how he had been so successful with his own companies, that is when I became a believer,” he said.

Falwall concluded by saying: “I really believe we are going to wake up November 9 and we are going to be as shocked as the folks were in Great Britain the day after the Brexit vote. I think the same type of sentiment is out there and I think that’s what we are going to see.”
