Trish Regan: DNC head Tom Perez should resign after Iowa caucus chaos

Democrats can’t run state caucus, so why should we trust them to run the country?

Democrats carrying on about election security and claiming President Donald Trump will steal the next election, steal.

For a bunch of people supposedly so concerned about election security, shouldn't they attempt to fix their own? We still have no clarity on what the heck went down in Iowa. The Democrats used a shell company with ties to a Democrat super PAC that delayed the results of the election for days. And now, there are calls to recanvas some districts.

The Democrats can’t figure out how to manage a state caucus, so why should we ever trust them to run the country? It’s Friday night, and still, no official winner has been declared. Meanwhile, the head of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Tom Perez, says he wants to recanvas some districts calling the ordeal "unacceptable."

Unacceptable is right, which is why I’m calling on Perez to resign. This happened under his watch. He is responsible.

Meanwhile, Perez and others are out there saying Trump is “dangerous” and that he’s going to cheat in 2020.

The Democrats ought to re-examine their own party right about now because according to the Associated Press, the company responsible for Iowa – the aptly named "Shadow Inc." – was “picked in secret by the Iowa Democrat party after its leaders consulted with the DNC."

The DNC – that would be Perez's organization.

And this is how bad it is: there was an obvious conflict of interest, multiple conflicts of interest.

First, the parent company of "Shadow" is named "Acronym," and "Acronym" also operates a Democrat-funded super PAC called "Pacronym."

The whole board at "Acronym" is likely made up of big-time Democrat establishment types. We know for a fact that David Plouffe is on the board.

You get the picture. Then, there’s the CEO of the company, Tara McGowan, that ran the app collecting the election results. Turns out, she's married to Pete Buttigieg's campaign adviser.

Conflict of interest much? It's almost like in Venezuela, when Hugo Chavez owned the voting machines for goodness sakes. McGowan's company owns "Shadow" and "Shadow" counted the votes and her husband’s candidate won.

Not only that, the campaign that he ran gave $42,500 to her election app.

So again, for a party that claims we are on the verge of being hacked by the Russians, you’d think they might sorta care about our election security as in, even Iowa’s?

Yet these Democrats running "Shadow," these guys never even vetted the app? Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Chad Wolf said his department offered, but they declined.

What kind of shop are they running? Why would we trust them to run our government when they are failing miserably on everything else?

It’s time for the head of the Democratic National Committee to exit stage left. There is no room for these kinds of errors and conflicts in our elections.

We’re talking about the sanctity of our votes. The sanctity of our country. "Shadow," "Acronym," "Pacronym" – take your business somewhere else. Perez can go with you (preferably to Venezuela since you all like socialism so much.)

We capitalists? We want transparency. We want a company that collects our votes to be diverse. Republicans, Democrats, Independents should all be on the board. We don’t want shadow organizations that are non-profits. I want a for-profit company counting my vote because they know if they get it wrong, or if they get hacked, their value will plummet.

You see, markets kinda work. Even in establishing a fair voting system.
