Country Star Larry Gatlin Endorses His ‘Old Friend’ Trump
Larry Gatlin, best known for his ‘80s hits with the Gatlin Brothers, told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney that Donald Trump has his vote in the 2016 presidential race.
“He’s an old friend of mine, Donald doesn’t really make friends -- he takes hostages. So I’ve been a hostage for over 40 years. He’s been very nice to me,” he said.
Although the presumptive Republican nominee would not be the country star’s first choice, Gatlin said he agrees with Trump’s stance on abortion, ISIS and the economy.
Gatlin also offered his “old friend” a bit of campaigning advice.
“Talk about really what you’re going to do with ISIS… I want to see how you are going to take 11 million people on day two of your presidency and, you know, put them on trains and all that, get them to [go] back to Mexico. Come on Donald, we don’t believe that, it’s not going to happen… I’ll vote for him but I’m not going to tell anybody else to,” he said.
