Emily Sherman is a contributor to Buy Side from WSJ, focused on providing readers with tools to develop financial literacy and make informed financial decisions about credit cards, loans and more. 

Emily previously worked as a writer and editor for CreditCards.com and Bankrate, dialing in on credit card points and miles and how to leverage them. She led the credit card-focused content, including reviews, for both sites. 

In her last year as a freelance writer, Emily has expanded to cover student loans, retirement, investing and other financial topics for publications including USA Today, Forbes and U.S. News and World Report. In addition to personal finance content, Emily has written about higher education, job hunting, and more. 

Emily is passionate about writing personal finance content tailored to underserved groups, which inspired her to co-found To Her Credit, a female-focused financial advice column on CreditCards.com. She aims to demystify complex financial topics with her work and help traditionally undereducated groups gain financial independence.
