Holly Johnson has almost a decade of finance experience creating expert content for CNN Underscored, Business Insider, CreditCards.com, LendingTree, Bankrate, and U.S. News and World Report. Johnson began her career working in the funeral industry, which may make you wonder why she works in personal finance now. Yet, the funeral industry taught her everything she needs to know about the value of one's money and time.
She left the mortuary business over a decade ago in order to explore her passion for personal finance and travel the world, and since then, Johnson and her husband have built a debt-free lifestyle that has them on a path to retire in their 40's.
Johnson has been a freelance writer at Brides for over three years, covering honeymoon resorts and destinations. Her love of budgeting also led to publishing the debt payoff book, “Zero Down Your Debt: Reclaim Your Income and Build a Life You'll Love.” She is the winner of the 2015 Plutus Award for “Best Contributor/Freelancer for Personal Finance.”
