Inside the Miami hotel favored by Sinatra, Rat Pack royalty

The hotel is famous for welcoming big-name celebrities and its in-house bakery, chocolate factory

History meets luxury at the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami.

The hotel, which opened in 1954, was always a place to “see and be seen,” according to Fontainebleau President Philip Goldfarb, regarding the many celebrities who have visited.

Among some of the most famous faces to grace the Fontainebleau include Frank Sinatra, who vacationed and lived at the hotel. Now, Goldfarb said, there’s an entire gallery dedicated to Sinatra filled with exclusive memorabilia.

“Frank Sinatra is in our DNA here, as entertainment is to this day,” Goldfarb told FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo.

Fontainebleau has also made appearances on the silver screen in films like “The Grand Hotel” and popular series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

Goldfarb said, aside from celebrity influence, the Fontainebleau maintains a state-of-the-art chocolate factory and bakery which produces fresh, handmade pastries, pretzels and gelato.

“Everything you eat here is made fresh on [the] property,” he said. “What’s really unique is everything is made from scratch.”

Even after 66 years of service, Goldfarb said the Fontainebleau still embraces tradition by featuring the original “F” logo and bow tie visuals inspired by the hotel’s original designer and architect, Morris Lapidus.

“I say some things here at the Fontainebleau never change, it’s as good as it's ever been,” Goldfarb said.
