Lizzo should be feeling “Good as Hell” after the year she's had. The fledgling Grammy winner skyrocketed to stardom with a series of hit songs, such as “Truth Hurts,” “Juice” and “Good as Hell.”
With a knack for singing, rapping and even playing the flute, Lizzo was the most Grammy-nominated artist of 2019, according to Vox, and TIME’s “Entertainer of the Year” for the same year.

LIZZO ADDS 'ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR' AWARD TO 8 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS
The 31-year-old, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, was born in Detroit in 1988 and later moved to Houston with her family, the Los Angeles Times reported. She reportedly worked with Prince for his album “Plectrumelectrum” in 2014 after moving to Minneapolis, during which time she told the Times she focused on finding her “voice.”

“I needed to treat every song as if it’s my song — that was the only note I got from him,” she told the outlet. “Every artist needs to write their song. The biggest lesson I learned was to write songs specifically for me. I don’t write pop songs, or R&B songs, or rap songs — I write Lizzo songs.”

Lizzo released “Lizzobangers” in 2013 and “Big Grrrl Small World" two years later, according to Billboard. One of her latest songs “Truth Hurts,” which was on her most recent album, “Cuz I Love You," topped Billboard’s Hot 100 for seven weeks in 2019 and has big-name fans, including billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Despite its recent success, the song was released in 2017 and was not initially warmly received. But the song’s lyrics – “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that b----“ – went viral on the internet as part of what was called the "#DNATest challenge,” Billboard reported, and Lizzo erupted into a household name.
“Cuz I Love You” was reported by Chart Data to be 2019's best-selling album by a female rapper.
