Varney: Trump's State of the Union address should go at Democrats for wasting US time, money

Trump should 'hammer the Democrats' during his State of the Union address, Varney said

FOX Business’ Stuart Varney, in his latest “My Take,” said he’d like to see President Trump “hammer the Democrats” during his State of the Union address.

“For three years, [Democrats] have dragged our country through the dirt,” he said. “They have told the rest of the world that we elected a racist bigot; that we ourselves are racist bigots too, as well as stupid.”

Now, the Democrats expect Trump to bring the country back together, Varney said, when it's "their job to apologize.” The Democrats first launched the “Russia fiasco” followed by obstruction of justice and finally, Varney said, the “vindictive, hate-filled” impeachment trial which comes to a close this week.

VARNEY: TRUMP'S ACHIEVEMENTS WOULD BE 'WRECKED' BY ELECTING A DEMOCRAT

“They won’t [apologize], of course, but they should,” he said. “They've done their best to make Mr. Trump, his supporters and America look bad and I’ve no doubt they will try to keep it going.”

So Varney asked, “why should the president back off now?”

Varney said we should expect the president to address the blue-collar boom, employment and trade agreements during the State of the Union – all “positive and unifying” although Speaker Nancy Pelosi will be sitting right behind him.

“It is the speaker who launched impeachment,” Varney said. “It is the speaker who spitefully said ‘impeachment is forever.’”

Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren will be seated in front of him as well. According to Varney, both presidential candidates have called Trump names and will vote to throw him out of office.

But Varney said despite the backlash from the Democrats, America stands tall.

“Go right at 'em Mr. President,” he said. “The media won't do it but the president can remind everyone just who has wasted the time and money of our nation and just who has been bad-mouthing our country!”
