Tennis star Maria Sharapova spent more than a decade as one of the top-ranked athletes in tennis, hitting a top-10 rank 12 out of 13 years between 2004 and 2016.
Sharapova has won five Grand Slams, most recently the French Open in 2014. She has an overall major record of 197-53.

The 6-foot-2-inch tennis star is originally from Nyagan, Russia. She’s been playing tennis since she was 4 years old and won her first two tournament titles in 2003. She won her first Grand Slam the next year at Wimbledon.
All that success on the court has been very lucrative for Sharapova. She’s won a career $38.78 million in prize money, according to the Women’s Tennis Association. Sharapova was the highest-paid female athlete in the world every year from 2005 to 2015.

Sharapova’s endorsement deals have been even more valuable than her tournament winnings. In 2019, she earned $1 million in prize money and $6 million for endorsements, Forbes reported.
She currently has deals with Nike, Porsche, Evian and Head, according to the report.
Sharapova’s net worth is somewhere between $135 million and $195 million, according to estimates from celebritynetworth.com and Forbes.

The athlete also owns her own candy brand called Sugarpova. She told FOX Business in 2018 that the business was worth $20 million six years after her $500,000 investment in the business.
Sharapova did face controversy in 2016 when she was suspended for 15 months after testing positive for meldonium, a banned performance-enhancing heart drug. Despite the suspension, most of Sharapova’s sponsors stuck with her in the years since.
