Apple showcases iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, AirPods at 'Far Out' product event

iPhone 14 and 14 Plus
The iPhone 14 will be 6.1 inches and the iPhone 14 Plus will be 6.7 inches. The phones will be powered by the A15 Bionic chip and a 5-core GPU. Features include a durable Ceramic Shield front cover; a 12 megapixel main camera; a front TrueDepth camera and an UltraWide camera; crash detection; and emergency SOS via satellite.
Pricing for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus will start at $799 and $899, respectively. Both models will come in Midnight, Blue, Starlight, Purple and Product Red with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage capacities. Pre-orders begin Friday with availability for the iPhone 14 starting Sept. 16 and iPhone 14 Plus beginning Oct. 7.

iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max
The iPhone 14 Pro will be 6.1 inches and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be 6.7 inches. Both phones will be powered by the A16 Bionic chip and 5-core GPU with 50% more memory bandwidth.
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will have a novel interface design called the Dynamic Island, which gives users greater access to controls without impeding content on the screen. They will also introduce the first-ever 48 megapixel main camera on an iPhone, which features a quad-pixel sensor, and a Photonic Engine, an enhanced image pipeline that dramatically improves low-light photos.
Other features include always-on display, crash detection and emergency SOS via satellite.
Pricing for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will start at $999 and $1,099, respectively. Both models will be available deep purple, silver, gold, and space black and 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities. Pre-orders begin Friday with availability starting on Sept. 16.
All U.S. iPhone 14 models will utilize a digital eSIM that supports multiple phone numbers and offers improved security.

Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE
The Apple Watch Series 8 will feature crash detection and a new temperature sensor that can help track women's health, including ovulation. A new low power mode extends battery life from 18 hours to up to 36 hours by temporarily disabling its always-on display and workout notifications.
Meanwhile, the second generation Apple Watch SE will offer activity tracking, high and low heart rate notifications, emergency SOS, fall detection and faster crash detection.
Both models are powered by watchOS 9, which introduces new and more customizable watch faces like Lunar and Metropolitan, an enhanced workout app, sleep stages, a first-of-its-kind AFib History feature and an all-new medications app.
The Apple Watch Series 8 will come in four colors: Midnight, Starlight, Silver and Product Red, and three stainless steel finishes: Silver, Gold and Graphite. The Apple Watch SE is available in 40mm and 44mm aluminum cases and Midnight, Starlight, and Silver finishes.
Pricing for the Apple Watch Series 8 starts at $399, while the Apple Watch SE starts at $249. Preorders begin Wednesday and will be available starting on Sept. 16.

Apple Watch Ultra
The Apple Watch Ultra is twice as bright as current Apple Watch displays and features three built-in microphones to significantly improve sound quality in voice calls during any conditions. It also includes heart rate monitoring, electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood oxygen apps, and the same crash detection and temperature sensing capabilities as the other new Apple Watch models.
In addition, the Ultra has the most accurate GPS of any Apple Watch to date, providing users the most precise distance, pace, and route data for training and competing, and the best battery life of any Watch model to date, reaching up to 36 hours during normal use. Additionally, a new low-power setting, ideal for multi-day experiences, can extend battery life to reach up to 60 hours.
Pricing for the Apple Watch Ultra will start at $799, with availability beginning on Sept. 23.
AirPods Pro
The new second generation AirPods Pro will have a slew of new features, including a new touch control to adjust volume, personalized spatial audio, adaptive transparency to reduce loud environmental noise, longer battery life with up to six hours of listening time and compatibility with MagSafe chargers.
It also comes with a newly designed charging case that is sweat- and water-resistant and contains a built-in speaker to deliver louder tones.
Pricing for the second generation AirPods Pro will start at $249. Preorders will begin Sept. 9 with availability in stores on Sept. 23. Third generation AirPods with lightning charging cases and Magsafe charging cases are available now for $169 and $179, respectively.
